Photo 101 Day 3 Assignment: Water
Truly my favorite subject to photograph.
I had planned to take new photos, both landscape & portrait – as the assignment suggested. I even have my water shot thought out a little bit … well, at least where I wanted to experiment at. But, it didn’t happen. Wednesdays are my grandson sitting day and it was extremely miserable outside. Not too cold, but definitely raining with majorly muddy areas. I need practice … so I am just putting it off for now.
So, here is a blast from the past. These photos are some of my personal favorites.
In our area, we have so many lakes, streams and waterfalls. I enjoy a nice hike being rewarded by the beauty of the falls. Just magical!
But, I just love the beach. Maybe that is because I live so far away from the ocean. Or possibly it is because I long to live on the beach year round. There is so much energy there but also a sense of peace.
These were taken on one of our trips to the East coast, North & South Carolina.
This is probably my very favorite. It never ceases to amaze me at how the water can carve these trenches & then re-carve them later very differently.
When we are approaching the beach and you can see the water through the grasses, the anticipation. I feel like running to get there faster. Now, that just wouldn’t be pretty. 😮
The piers are always so powerful. These large man made pieces of wood & beams extending so far out in the ocean. Being on top of the pier with the wind in your face and the smell of the salt water is so awe inspiring. My knees actually feel weak. But, being underneath is just plain scary. Notice, I wasn’t alone under there.
