Blue Ridge, Georgia … quaint, little tourist town.
My Mom and I recently went on a 3 day gal’s getaway to Blue Ridge, Ga. Our BIG plan was to ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway to Claysville on a Fall Foliage Trip. The things we didn’t count on when scheduling the trip was that the temps would drop to the low 50’s and would be rainy and dreary AND that all of the Fall foliage would be lying on the ground.
We were in an open car and chilled to the bone by the time we arrived back to Blue Ridge. So, we decided to find an indoor activity to warm up. A manicure and pedicure fit that perfectly.
While we were in Blue Ridge, we had planned to visit some of the cute little town shops. So, we got up early & hit the town only to find out that nothing except the coffee shop opened before 10am. Some shops even opened as late as noon. I was shocked!
Some other little gems we found while visiting this sleepy little town …
A restaurant called Southern Charm. They serve warm biscuits and apple butter to start you off. They have the BEST fried green tomatoes … well, not counting my own homemade. And our waiter (Oh, why can’t I remember his name?) was super friendly and attentive!
The trapeze … while on our train ride, we saw a trapeze set up. I was so stunned that I didn’t even get a photo! But, I had to know why! Why is there a trapeze in a field in Blue Ridge Georgia? http://www.cirque-fit.com/ And now we know!
I am sure we could have found many more gems in this town if the weather had cooperated. But, we made the best of what we had to work with!
