I know, I know! What a cheesy title! But, it’s true! I do! And I also love to find any ideas or tips to make painting my nails easier, better, prettier.
I tried the Jamberry Nail Kits once. And I am still sitting on the fence about them.
Photos of my actual nails with the teal sparkle and peacock feather. (Sorry about the poor quality cell phone photos) I had so many compliments from friends & patients. Even men commented! They loved the color.
Sure they were easy to apply and they did stick well. But, I just could not get the feel for getting the tips cut and filed just right. I initially ended up with a glob of gooey residue stuck to the tips. I know it can be done because I have seen the videos of many people doing it nicely. Mine stayed in place for a good 7 days with me washing a bazillion times a day. I did end up cutting / filing almost daily to keep the tips from flipping up and bugging me. After about 1 week, the thumb nail sticker came up approx. half way. So, I removed it. It did leave a sticky residue on my nail for a few days. The remainder of the nails would have stayed on for many more days I believe. But, I went ahead and removed them too. I will have to try them again soon. Practice makes perfect, right?
Recently on facebook, I saw a link to a site with many links to “nail hacks.” My favorite hack was actually in the comment section … using yard sale sticker circles to create the perfect French manicure. I tried it. It works perfectly! I cut my circles in half to extend the amount of uses.
I was able to do my manicure in half the time as it normally takes to do a French tip AND the tips are much more uniform! I’m hooked!
Using yard sale circles vs. Free handed
Now, to leave you with my one tip for perfect nails that last.
Nail – Aid 3 Minute Artificials Nail Polish.
(Stock Photo) I use it as a base coat and a top coat. With normal washing and hand sanitizer usage at work, my nail polish remains intact for an entire 7 days! Love it! Cost is less than $4 at Wal-mart. This is the only type in this brand that they have in my local store. But, upon searching for a stock photo, I discovered they also have several other types of this brand polish. I will definitely be trying those out!
Now to be clear … I have had a gel manicure. This polish is not quite as good as the real thing. But, it is the closest I have found in a regular nail polish. It does make my nails stronger, the polish lasts longer and it makes my nails shine. I love this polish so much that I have bought it for all of my closest friends to try.
Have you tried this, yet?
* I feel that I should add that I have not been compensated for the review of the Nail-Aid product. I am just a loyal customer passing on a tip about a product I think other’s may like to try. All opinions are my own!
