I have been doing better at controlling my uncontrollable eating … if that makes any sense at all!?! I just wish I had the motivation and will power to eat so healthy that this 1/2 to 1 pound per week would turn into 2 or 3 pounds per week! I did come across a good article on emotional eating. My plan for the week is to try to follow some of the strategies they have outlined and see where that takes me …. especially the eat 3 healthy things before I eat that comfort food.

I am continuing on with my previous exercise goal … the couch to 5K running plan that I found here . I plan to run a 5K hosted by a local school the end of September. My new goal last week was to add weights back into my workout on my off run days. And, I did that! Yay! They say 21 days to build a new habit … so I am staying on that path!
I have been absent this past week from posting much. We spent the entire week in a maddening rush from sun up to sun down to put together a wedding. And, on Saturday, we had a small, home wedding for my son and his new bride. Immediate family were all that were in attendance. It was stressful, with emotions running wild before the event. I eloped when I got married. So, I cannot imagine what it woud be like with a big wedding. I have also never been “into” weddings. I did not dream of my perfect wedding growing up and I am not one who likes to attend weddings. Of course, after the ceremony, all was more calm and we had a nice cookout with great company!
I kept joking that when my middle son got married next year, I was going to go on a 6 week vacation and return just in time for their wedding to start. But, when we got home from the wedding Saturday night, we got the news that he and his fiance (now wife) had eloped the previous Monday. Yay!
My youngest son is 12 … so, thankfully, I will not have to experience a wedding again anytime soon.
I wish both of my sons & their wives a long, happy life!
