Eating Plan:

After a horrible weekend of snacking … I am happily back to my shakes!

“Running is a big question mark that’s there each and every day.  It asks you, ‘Are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong today?'”
– Peter Maher, Irish-Canadian Olympian and sub-2:12 marathoner

I am continuing on with my previous exercise goal … the couch to 5K running plan that I found here . I plan to run a 5K hosted by a local school the end of September. My new goal last week was to add weights back into my workout on my off run days. And, I did that! Yay! They say 21 days to build a new habit … so I am staying on that path!

I am still on the “wog” part of the couch to 5K. The schedule for this week is to walk for 2 minutes and jog for 90 seconds. On the track that I workout on, this is approximately 1 lap walk and 3/4 lap jogging. Yes, I am still battling leg cramps … even on my off run days! But, I power on! I have broken down and bought tonic water. Now, just to figure out how much I need to drink to help the cramps! At 90 calories a pop, I hope it’s not too much!

Today, I did 15 laps … 2 warm up walking and 2 cool down walking and 11 wogging in 30 minutes. Out of curiosity, I measured it. Just shy of 2 miles. More than I thought I had done. But, that means it would take me about 45 minutes to complete a 5K at my current physical status. Yikes! Good thing I have more time to train. I know I won’t be 1st but I don’t want to be last either!

The scale hasn’t budged much for me. It is definitely a very slow process when you just can’t be good. 😉 So, at this point I am happy with any loss! But, more important, I am noticing big changes in my body. My legs are more tone, I am starting to see my ab muscles and I have lost quite a few inches from my thighs. Now, if my double chin and arms would get with the program!

My oldest son’s big day is Saturday! And, I found a nice outfit! In a medium! Now, I must be off to do last minute “things!”

About nonnymoose2014

I have recently retired from the healthcare field, nursing. As I try to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, this seemed like the perfect time to try my hand at blogging again. In the past, my success (or lack thereof) I believe hinged on my fear of revealing too much about myself. I have a desire to “put it all out there” BUT I want to do it on my own terms … anonymously! Thus came Nonny Moose.
