Bye! Bye! Plateau!

Yesterday, I finally broke my plateau! Yay!

Motivated by the loss, I was eager to try a new workout  that I had found when researching ways to jump start your weight loss or break a plateau. That was one tough workout … for me anyway!

After I completed my workout, I was looking at my numbers … I had burned 464 calories and I didn’t even repeat the circuit B & core parts a second time. (too exhausted!) The article said a person would burn around 300 cal. When re-reading the article later, I discovered why! I had repeated the first cardio part instead of just repeating the circuit. No wonder I was too tired to do the entire workout!

Note to self … read the instructions more carefully!

If you are reading this post and are thinking about losing weight, starting an exercise plan or your motivation is lagging on your current journey, I found a good article ! It certainly put things into perspective for me.

According to the article, I am currently pulling myself out of yet another relapse …

“Relapse

It is completely normal to lapse into former behaviors. If you notice that you’ve slipped, instead of beating yourself up, consider relapse as an opportunity to examine what helped you succeed and what were your blockades. Coming up with a new plan to address obstacles, whether they are old or new, may give you the adjustment you need to dive back into your new behavior.” www.livestrong.com

That was comforting! I did exactly as it said, I identified the problem areas, redirected my goals and I am on the path again to success!

Now, off for my run!

About nonnymoose2014

I have recently retired from the healthcare field, nursing. As I try to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, this seemed like the perfect time to try my hand at blogging again. In the past, my success (or lack thereof) I believe hinged on my fear of revealing too much about myself. I have a desire to “put it all out there” BUT I want to do it on my own terms … anonymously! Thus came Nonny Moose.

  1. Congratulations! I’m going to check out the article because I’m in a bit of a plateau and slacking after my triathlon this weekend. Need to get focused and crank it up to meet my goals for my one year surgery anniversary!

    • Thank you! I think the article hit home for me because I was just pulling out of the slump and it called it “completely normal.” Maybe I just needed to see that in print!
A triathlon! That’s so awesome! I haven’t checked out your posts in a little while, so I need to get back there and catch up!
