I have been doing great with drinking my water now and exercising, but my eating plan has suffered … mostly giving into carb cravings in the evening! I know fad diets are not good long term. However, in an effort to jump start my weight loss and motivate me to keep going past this plateau I have reached, I started this past weekend doing the slimrite shakes from Kroger and eating one meal with fruit and veggies for snacks. I know a lot of people do not like the flavor of these drinks, but I personally love the vanilla! Add a banana and it makes a yummy smoothie! To help me portion control, I am eating a frozen meal for dinner. Once I get myself under control again, I plan to transition back to a healthy eating plan.

I am continuing on with my previous exercise goal … the couch to 5K running plan that I found here . I plan to run a 5K hosted by a local school the end of September.
My husband, who is much taller than me, went walking with me on Friday. I normally do not like to do any form of excercise or activities with him because he is very critical. When we first met, I loved to play tennis. My best friend in school and I would have such fun just hitting the ball back and forth and being crazy. But, when I met my husband, we had to play by the rules or he would not play if I didn’t … no hitting the ball around just for fun. Needless to say, I stopped playing with him. More recently, we tried to get the family together to play volleyball at a local court. He again became critical of my “skills” or lack thereof and I quit very angrily!
Having been a runner in his youth, I prepared for his critique on our walk. However, was pleasantly surprised when he patiently worked with me on lengthening my stride. He has encouraged me to repeat week one this week, working specifically on my form and stride. And, since I really struggled with leg cramps last week, I agreed. It is a 9 week plan and I have about 12 weeks until the 5K I am entering, so I figure it would not be an issue and will hopefully be best in the long run!
Since my past weigh in, I have lost the weight I had regained! Yay! We are on the count down to wedding day for my son … just under 3 weeks!! One of my little goals along the way had been to reach 160 ish by wedding day. Due to my lagging willpower, that will not happen! But, I have decided to be really strict and do the best I can before then so I can at least feel ok about buying something cute and less frumpy for wedding day! **Crossing fingers!!**
