Cash Talks! Fat Walks! Weekly Update!

Weight

Starting: 190 Last: 177 Current: 179 Yikes!!

Eating Plan:

I had originally started doing a daily update including exactly what I was eating each day … but since I already journal my intake at www.fitday.com, it all became a little overwhelming! So, I have chosen to go back to the weekly updates on Monday. But, now what to include in the “E”ating part of my format?? Recipes?? New foods I find and love?? Food goals?? I guess that will also be a work in progress!

This week, I will include food goals. I have really cut down on water these past two weeks. It started while on vacation … too hard to plot out potty breaks on road trips! So, now it is time to drown the fat again! The second one is to eat more regular meals. Somehow, I had gotten into not eating until about 3 in the afternoon. I am sure this has wrecked my metabolism for the moment!

Inspiration:

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” – Marcel Proust

Goal:

This week, I am continuing on with the same exercise goal I had in my last weight loss post … get into running! Except, I am now going to re-define that goal …

I plan to run a 5K hosted by a local school the end of September.

In my research, I have found that it takes approxomately 6 weeks to go from “couch to 5K.” So, this will give me more than enough time to “train” for the run. There were other races that were in the 6 to 8 week range from now, but I had hoped the school event would be a little less formal for my first race. Depending on how well I do with that race … not in terms of winning or where I place, but more if I love the process … I will then train for a 10K that is in October and then find a 1/2 marathon and marathon at intervals from that time!

I really liked the couch to 5K plan I found here  because it spread it out over a 9 week period … putting me closer to the date of my run. I also like that it has an outlined schedule that was easy to refer back to or even to print off.

Anyone else in for a 5K??

Happening:

I guess I already covered all of my “diet” topics above. So, off topic now … since I have been unsuccessful in going from nurse to __________ (fill in the blank!), I have decided to go back to college! I have an appointment with a career counselor the first part of July to decide where I can go from the degree and various college credits that I already have.  After all these years … Scary!

About nonnymoose2014

I have recently retired from the healthcare field, nursing. As I try to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, this seemed like the perfect time to try my hand at blogging again. In the past, my success (or lack thereof) I believe hinged on my fear of revealing too much about myself. I have a desire to “put it all out there” BUT I want to do it on my own terms … anonymously! Thus came Nonny Moose.

  1. I have always wanted to run a 5K but never knew where to start, thank you for your link, that may be one of my next goals. And congrats on going back to college, what an amazing goal! Good luck with your meeting, I hope you decide on something that you’re thrilled about! How fun! You’re a good influence.

  2. I’d love to paste your 5K link on my blog if you don’t mind, I just found it so inspiring. But I can’t figure out how to link to your blog without writing out the entire address, sorry. (You linked mine once and just said “Me & Alli” – not http://www.alli56.wordpress.com – you know what I mean? How do you do that??) Anyway, thanks for the inspiration!

    • I am honored that you would mention my post!! And also so happy that you found it inspiring!

I do not mind at all how you linked to me but I will try to tell you how to do it the other way, too … in case you want to try it in the future. I am assuming that the different blog templates have the same “tools” when I explain this 🙂 … I wrote out your blog name in my post. I then highlighted the name like when you copy and paste something. (just don’t actually copy and paste it) I then went to the tool bar that is above the post I am writing and click on the thing that looks like a chain link. That tool opens up a little window that allows you to then paste the actual link to the post you are referring to. Then press insert and you are done. Is that as clear as mud? haha!
