Back at it … again!

A few weeks ago, I decided I must lose weight not only for vanity (this double chin has got to go!) but for health! This GERD is NO fun! And, while I professed to have found my motivation … I obviously had not! It was too easy for me to stray! I have every excuse in the book … some legit, some laziness, all poor excuses!

I have talked before about how my bad habits have affected my son. However, I now see my son trying to be a big influence on me. He is coming to the age where he is discovering girls are more than “cooties!” And he would be horrified if he knew I “put those words in his mouth!” The mere mention of the word “girls” brings a red flush to his face and a gentle smack to my arm to be quiet. haha! And God forbid if I touch him or refer to him as “honey” or “baby” in public.

Anyway … he is the reason I am finding my willpower to get back on track! That and my husband offered us $10 per pound up to $300, each! Cash talks! 🙂

I wanted to come up with some clever post title, some clever diet name. Like, a gal who also blogs calls her diet updates McFatty Monday. (Sorry, I’d provide the link, but again I am too lazy!) Not feeling too clever today!

But, I have decided that while I do keep track of my progress (or lack thereof) at, I am going to try to be more accountable and keep track of my journey right here everyday! Not sure how exactly I am going to do this, yet. Plan my meals ahead, as my friend over at Me and Alli  does each day. Or transer my meals over at the end of each day?? Anyway, I will figure it out as I go along! I did come up with a way to plan out my blog posts using the word WEIGH!

W – weight stats

E – eating, what I am eating each day to include calories, fat grams, carbs and protein.

I – inspiration, I am all about what keeps people motivated and searching for things to keep me motivated. And, I love inspirational quotes! Feel free to send me your favorite quotes or ideas to stay motivated!

G – goals, This might be a daily goal related to or unrelated to weight loss. Like drink more water or clean out my closet! It might be a weekly goal or a daily goal. Never know around here! 🙂

H – happenings, Just my everyday chit-chat!

So, here we go again …

Inspiration – “The good Lord gave you a body that can stand most anything. It’s your mind you have to convince.” Vincent Lombardi SO true!!

Goals – Final weight goal: To lose 50 pounds. First weight goal: 30 pounds by August 11, 2010 – a little high, I know! A goal imposed by my husband to get the money! Goal for this week: To replace the soda I have begun drinking again with water. Begin exercising again! Keeping it simple this week to avoid slacking off again!

H – First thing this morning, I planted the new flowers I bought over the weekend. Nothing brightens my mood more than digging in the dirt and beautiful flowers!

This is my current favorite! With lack of space, I had to place my Texas stepping stone in the back of my pot. Unable to grow bluebonnets here, I opted for a forget-me-not, with it’s pretty tiny blue flowers! This flower is a little pitiful looking! I usually opt to buy from the clearance bin if they have what I am looking for … while the cheap price is a bonus, I find it a challenge to rescue the flowers and try to bring them back! Since the flowers are typically there due to the roots being bound by their small pots,  I am usually successful just by replanting them in a bigger pot and giving them a little TLC! Now, I am off to do some type of formal exercise AND then back to unpacking boxes and getting this new place in order! Don’t hate me because my life is so glamorous! 😉

About nonnymoose2014

I have recently retired from the healthcare field, nursing. As I try to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, this seemed like the perfect time to try my hand at blogging again. In the past, my success (or lack thereof) I believe hinged on my fear of revealing too much about myself. I have a desire to “put it all out there” BUT I want to do it on my own terms … anonymously! Thus came Nonny Moose.
