Week Two Gerd Diet √

My brother discovered a few months ago that he gets chocolate induced migraines. Because of what it did to his body, he swore it off for good. I rememeber when he told me that and I said to him that I could never live without chocolate! Do you know what I learned these past two weeks? It is possible to survive without chocolate! I know! I know! But, it is true!

Week two following the GERD diet has gone well. I did take one day to “splurge” when my mother had dinner for the family at her house. She made some German faire … schnitzel (fried!!), pickled red cabbage, potatoes (again fried!!), & cake to name a few of the no-no’s. I made sure to (somehow) eat in moderation and stay in my high end caloric intake (1500 cal) that day, despite the splurge and hoped the pickled and fried foods would not keep me up all night. It didn’t!

Current stats:

Weight: Starting 190, Last 185, Current 182

3 pounds! Hurray! That is 3 more paperclips moved from my VERY long paperclip chain. 🙂 And leaves me 22 pounds from my first goal of 160 pounds by July! I CAN do this!

About nonnymoose2014

I have recently retired from the healthcare field, nursing. As I try to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, this seemed like the perfect time to try my hand at blogging again. In the past, my success (or lack thereof) I believe hinged on my fear of revealing too much about myself. I have a desire to “put it all out there” BUT I want to do it on my own terms … anonymously! Thus came Nonny Moose.

    • Thank you! I just realized that I will soon be down into the 170’s again! WooHoo! I usually do pretty good getting started! My last couple attempts at this, I have hit 172 and plateaud … forever! Well, at least so long that I quit! While I will be happy to hit that mark again, I will be happy to pass it, too! haha! I just recently shopped for an outfit for my parent’s wedding anniversary. It was traumatic! My boys will be getting married in July … so I plan to buy something nice for that! I plan to have no frumpy mother of the groom here! And no more trauma! haha! Thanks for commenting AND good luck this week to you!
