While approaching day 4 on Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred, I have wondered many times …
1) Why did they make toilets so low to the ground?
No really! It was not only hard to plop myself down that far but it was equally as hard to get myself up for the entire first 4 days of the Shred!
2) When deciding that your sore muscles need a good, long, hot soak in the tub, remember …what goes down must again come back up!
Now, this sounds so simple. But, it really did not occur to me to be an issue until I was already half way down into the water (again plopping because it hurt too bad to lower myself down).
3) On day 2 when you think that the exercises are working out some of the soreness, remember these words … The day after day 2 you will hurt much worse than the day after day 1.
This may sound a little confusing, but if you experience it firsthand, you will say … Oh, that’s what she meant! I of course awoke on day2 very sore, but I did my workout anyway. And, I really did say after that 2nd workout, “Wow! That helped to work some of the soreness out!” About 30 minutes after my workout, it really started to hit me and I was shocked to awaken on day 3 barely able to walk. It literally hurt every muscle in my body! I found myself walking straight legged just so I didn’t have to bend my knees. But, it still hurt.
Today, I am thrilled to be so much less sore! I accomplished more during the workout! And I have never looked back! And I promise you, that your day of decreasing soreness may occur on a different day than mine … but it will get there! I have friends at various stages of the 30 days from a newbie who just started with me today to an old friend who just completed hers yesterday! They assure me that the struggles are so worth it! So, if you haven’t started .. go for it! And, if you have already started … good for you! I would love to hear your experiences, your accomplishments!!
